Challenge Tracks

Participants can choose from three distinct tracks (1 – 3), each designed to challenge different skill levels and areas of expertise.

1. Image-Video Generation: Storytelling with AI
Use AI to create compelling stories through images and videos
This track focuses on using AI to create compelling and engaging stories through images and videos. Participants will explore AI tools and techniques to generate visuals that can tell a story or convey a message creatively. Ideal for those interested in content creation, filmmaking, and digital storytelling, this track encourages innovative approaches to visual art. Participants may also extend the provided open-source project to enable their desired functionality.
  • Target: Creatives and entrepreneurs
  • Open-source project. Hyper-SD, SDX-Lightening, or AnimatedDiff-Lightening
  • Level: Beginner
  • Award. $
2. 3D Generation for Game Developers, Filmmakers, or Digital Artists
Utilize AI to create 3D content for games, films, or digital art
This track is designed for participants with a background in 3D modeling and animation. It challenges them to use AI to create three-dimensional content for games, films, or digital art projects. Whether it's creating lifelike characters, detailed environments, or dynamic animations, this track aims to push the boundaries of what can be achieved with AI in 3D generation. Participants may extend the provided open-source project to enable their desired functionality.
  • Target: Digital artists/developers
  • Open-source project: MagicBoost
  • Level: Intermediate
  • Award. $$
3. Advanced AI or Systems Optimization
Improve LLM software frameworks or optimize systems for better performance
This track is for experienced developers or machine learning engineers who are ready to tackle complex AI challenges. Participants may either focus on optimizing and improving PyTorch-based large language model (LLM) parallel frameworks supporting multi-card parallel training or focus on improving an end-to-end model compile solution including compiler, runtime, and frontend. This track aims to foster greater innovations in the field. Participants should have a deep understanding of LLMs and/or AI systems software stack.
  • Target: Skilled developers
  • Open-source project: ByteIR or VeScale
  • Level: Advanced
  • Award. $$$

Support Activities

  • There will be webinars, workshops, and Q&A sessions to assist participants throughout the challenge.
